Reply from Stanley Tools on whether their laser-measuring device would work to measure height above water: "The unit will not measure liquid or any other reflective material. If you are measuring a solid surface above the water, then it will be fine." Oh well, I guess it's back to sonar then... Has anyone tried any of the ultrasonic measuring devices over water?
