Have you seen and tried any of them ?
(I have not, even in the museums. Only pictures.)
On my opinion, the main question is what accuracy can be actually
achieved.
With a simple star globe I can do to about 2 degrees.
Some descriptions in the literature mention 1'
("Spherotrigonometer") but I don't believe this,
especially for the devices which do a complete fix,
rather than solve one triangle.
