Off topic--but:  Of course (and I'll leave G.W. out of the discussion)!  In
the past a bar of soap could be lathered up and used for washing your hair
or body; add a brush and voila--shaving lather. No four-blade razors needed.
Now men need several products.  How many products women need I won't even
speculate on. If you have read "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" you know
"the first people to be lined-up against the wall and shot after the
revolution will be the marketing department of...."  If you have not read
it, some version of it will be available on the big screen soon. Or I can
loan you the BBC radio-broadcast tapes.  So the West doesn't necessarily
"trust" advertising/marketing, they just buy into it as part of a dream.
Don't ask *me* why ;-)

On topic:  In the case of Celestaire, they offer a money-back guarantee. (If
I recall a wise man suggested the Astra over the SNO-T when I was riding the
fence over an affordable full sized vs. yacht-sized sextant because of the
guarantee.) I have found Celestaire to be as good as their printed word
(unusual these days).  Even if I don't trust the booklet advertising, if I
order an item and they send me a lemon--or if it does not measure up to what
I believe the item was advertised as--they make it right.  What more could I
ask for?

Sanity check:  List members give their full names and Lat/Lon to .1 nm.  A
local phone book, and in most cases I can knock on their front door if I
choose.  I trust you.  Does that make me foolish?
