Don't you think that it is really a "two LOPs" situation, because flying along the river is, to some extent" roughly" following second LOP (of course, pre-determined). If the airfield would be in the middle of huge grass-covered area without visible landmark I don't see how the method will work. As apacherunner mentioned in his post. But it is very useful even for land navigation. Thank you.
