As a side note to this conversation I searched my 1931 edition of "Air Navigation" and it does not include this letter from Noonan. It would be interesting to find out when Weems added the letter and why he chose to do so. db

I believe Noonan’s describing the Pan Am S42 survey flight to Honolulu 16th April 1935. Noonan honed his Air Navigation skills with Weems and they appear to have become good friends. Gary's the expert on Noonan. DaveP
