    ...and always keep/maintain a good and solid DR navigation, frequently crosschecking your heading instrument(s) whether gyroscopic or magnetic and your surface speed instruments and do your best to estimate your speed made good given your environmental conditions: both a science and an art !

    Nobody can defeat CelNav as long as you have both a reliable chronometer (with Lunars as a back-up), a carefully maintained and frequently checked sextant and Nautical Almanac tables or equivalent.

    Nobody either can defeat a good and solid DR navigation with sensors frequently checked and crosschecked through all means available (Celnav, Radar, Depthfinder and others) not to forget good and reliable [oceanic] charts.
