Looks like a Bendix MK IV . Similar to an A-7 but with a more complex averager.

Skip to minute 41:00 of the YouTube "Island In The Sky" movie part 1 to see the Octant in action. Why was the navigator making observations through the plex when he could have stepped out side. No need to use the averager from the stability of land either.
