Well, at 79 and 81 MrsP and I have finally achieved our ‘Bucket list’ Sun, Moon, Venus fixes. There are large time gaps, large refraction values for the Sun, and they’re not the best of cuts, but you must accept that sort of thing at this time of year. Also, it’s impossible to regrease the mounting without stripping it down, the teddies seem to have substituted marmalade, so the readings were a bit jumpy. Unfortunately, all this has left us far too worn out to plot the fixes tonight, so if anyone wishes to have a crack at them, please go ahead. I’ll plot them ‘a la Air Almanac/AP3270’ when I get chance.
