The auction ended with a high bid of $515 which still did not exceed the reserve.

I simply mentioned the then current price for "information". Your comment about bids made in the last seconds of an "auction" are obviously appropriate, on point. Additionally, your comments on the potential for counterfeits raise interesting possibilities, for those with fraud in mind.
Speaking personally, I'm quite happy playing around with the Post and K & E stick slide rules that I have, and when I want or need a really accurate answer, the HP 11C that I've had for 20 plus years provides them.
As for the Bygrave Slide Rule, one of these days, I might pull together the several posts and instructions provided by Gary LaPook and put one together, who knows.
