Forgot to mention, the Moon's position is best determined by zooming in and looking for faint stars around it. Here's an example with various small stars marked. You won't find these stars on any lists of navigation stars. They're all around magnitude 4.5-6.5 --close to the naked-eye limit, depending on lighting conditions.
