I bought an RAF MK IXa, with the averaging mechanism removed, from Celestaire in 1979 - shipped from Kansas to Scotland and intended to be used for some serious off-road trips in the Arabian peninsula. Those trips didn't happen, but I still have the sextant, plus a couple of A-12s, expertly rescued by Geoffrey Kolbe.

All three are still working, so thanks Ken and Geoffrey!
