I just saw a short article on this lady in connection with a new book Hidden Figures and an upcoming movie about her life.
See: http://www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/a-lifetime-of-stem.html
In the Vanity Fair of September 2016 they say of her and Apollo II, "With her slide rule - - - it was her duty to calculate orbital trajectories and flight times relative to the moon - you know, simple things." Actually, she was asked to check the computer calculations of the flight.
She's 97 and recieved the Presidential Medal of Freedom last year.
I had never heard of her and, a search of NavList, doesn't find her. Heavy duty navigation.
