As a follow up to David's message re bulb voltages on the Kollsman periscopic, I have checked mine and find it has two bulbs, Both are powered by an external 3 D Cell converted torch. Connection via a BNC plugged cable. The bubble and azimuth scale lamp is dimable and is a 3.6V pre focus lamp as used in pocket torches. The other is a screw in 232 pattern lamp of 3 V rating, undimmable, used to light the scales on the averager. My instrument claims to have been made in the UK and is a type L28460 00 002 it says on the plate. It is a pendulous mirror type with a cross hair and no tramlines.
