Re my earlier post today, I just checked. The Kollsman tubes all seem to be about 1.369” OD, or 6 thou less than 1 3/8”. The ID of the mountings must be a few thou more than that, 1 3/8”?? That’s just wide enough to poke the Stars and Stripes, Union Jack, or the Bundesflagge through. Here’s a pretty photo of a 3V Bundeswehr Kollsman. It was probably never issued to an aircraft. It seems like new. I bought it online from a Goverment Surplus outlet in Poland for about £75GBP. Kollsman give you a lovely spun aluminium torch (like Grandma used to have to go down the garden with) adaptation to power it. I’ve set it in an equally rare, not Bundeswehr, unpowered mounting.
