Many thanks, Gary. I understand now (sort of) the IRB scale. I suspect the elevation scale issue may be due to previous dismantling and out-of-line reassembly,
as was definitely the case with the IRB scale alignment.
The FAA book is a gold mine for me, as my aim here is to be able to explain the principles of operation of aircraft systems to the museum's visitors.
