I am attafching the sextant mount pages from AFPAM 11-216. I have all the operations, maintenance, and parts manuals for the Kollsman sextants, periscopic and handheld. Too voluminous for me to scan in.
The range of elevation is - 10 to +92 degrees.
I don't know about the English sextant mount. For the Kollsman mounts, whether the azimuth scale runs CW or CCW "it depends on how you look at it." If you place the mount on a table with he scale on the top surface so that you are looking down on it then the scale runs clockwise. but, when it is mounted in the overhead so that you are looking up at it then the scale runs counter-clockwise. The scale on the Kollsman is designed as an "inverse relative bearing scale" and the attached pages show how it is utilized.
(Frank, a long time i uploaded the entire AFPAM 11-216 at https://www.NavList.net/img/104310.pages%20from%20afpam11-216.pdf but now I can't download it. Is it still on the NAVLIST and, if so, is there a new URL to download it.)
