Hi all,
I purchased and picked a Kollsman periscope sextant this morning. I had been reading up on it (thanks gl for posts and manuals and Arthur Leung for your article on sextantbook.com)
Now I got confused over subtypes. The box says it's a type MS28011-3, the unit itself says MS28011-5 (instead of -3), although the mfr's part numbers match. It looks like the MA-1/MA-2 and I read about a type D-1. And Arthur's article mentions it's a MHR1.
Is there someone who can someone clear this up?
What's the differences? Specifically, I would need to give the bubble chamber a refill. Luckily, the refill nozzle is on the side (other than in Arthur Leung's unit) so I don not need to remove the diffuser or the bubble chamber. And... what liquid for refill? I've used xylene in other sextants.
Thanks in advance!
Eric
