Sodium street lights radiate over a fairly narrow bandwidth, so it is possible to mitigate their effects with a filter. This is not possible with LED light, so you are holed below the waterline on that count, I am afraid.
I find the best position for using the A12 is sitting on the ground with my back against something. With my elbows on my knees, I can adjust the height of A12 relative to my eye by spreading or closing my knees. With the A12 also held against my face, this forms a three-point support for the A12 which I find very stable. I have to say, I have not found using the A12 to be a problem. If I can see the star, I can shoot it.
