Instead of soldering LEDs onto a
sextant...one can also buy a tiny LED light like the "Photon" micro-lights, and
some of those come with clips so they can be attached to the bill of a baseball
cap, etc. and used hands-free. There are also LED "ring" lights, similar in size
but with a plastic "ring" so you can slide it on a finger and have the LED
illuminate whatever your hand is pointing at.
OK, not as elegant as converting your sextant
lighting but a bit simpler for those who aren't soldering
whizzes.<G>
