    Yes, John

I would think that we ALL agree onto your comments. And thanks for having taken time to explain them in detail.

It is very true nowadays that there is nothing utterly complicated about the "big pictures" describing the various solutions to our so-called "LOP's without DR position" problem. Maybe it could be possible to find a better and more appropriate name to describe this problem, I totally agree here also.

Nonetheless finding solutions to this kind of problem has been sought after by a number a people to whom it was then not so obvious, while we can find it so simple nowadays once (their) light has been shed upon. Not to mention also how formidable a hand computation it could have been to whomever would have risked himself into computing with Log Tables just one example of the "3D/3 Plan" (3G.1 type) solution before calculators could do it routinely.

Again, and you are 100% right: I am mainly interested in the historical part about "who?, when?, where?" published solution(s) falling into category 3G.1 as defined in a previous post (g30461).

Best Regards to you John, and thank you again

    Kermit
