Patrick Lorho is the last sextant manufacturer in France. He is essentially a one man shop that uses modern advanced manufacturing techniques.

He just got a new order from French Navy. They have decided to reintroduce celestial naviagation due to uncertanties in the world and received a order for 25 sextants with more to come.

He is a aerospace parts manufacturer so has access to the tooling for advanced manufacturing. I am not trying to promote his business I just thought that it would be interesting for those interested in sextants. He claims  many improvements in his design.
