Here at Emerald Isle North Carolina 34 D 39 M North/77 D 03 M West, it finally cleared for a while last night. Was able to see a very clear full moon, followed by it's disappearance, then the start of it's reappearance, though it seemed like the clouds had returned. It was quite interesting. Weather wise, so far, this years fall beach trip has been a bummer, first couple of days were O.K., things went down hill from there on, lots of rain and clouds, so far, about the worst fall trip we can recall. Complaining about the weather is free, doing something about it is a different story. If the weather clears, I hope it does, I will break out my sextant and try some sun shots, just to see if I remember how, as it's been a while.
On another tack, came upon copies of Nautical Quarterly, a defunct magazine dealing with boats, the sea and such. You might find some copies at a local used book shop, copies also available via ebay, and amazon.
