I'm identifying the "bright" star in the photo as HR 1353 (also known as HIP 20106), and the field of view of the little photo is just about 2.0°. Does that sound right? From this and a few other details, I find an observer location 11.22 km due west of the north end of runway 19 at Reagan National Airport. Is that close? Details later.
