Actually Captain Lou Orion is a no-nonsense female sailing instructor. I sailed on the 47 foot Blue Plane from Grenada to St. Thomas, USVI in February 2016 for the American Sailing Association Offshore Passagemaking Course (ASA 108). Only one other crew member had signed up for that course which meant we got the dusk and dawn watches for celestial. I was interested in testing my sextant skills in ocean swells which probably reached about 8 feet. Although sailing roughly north in tropical latitudes I did manage to bag one good Polaris sight. For the 35 sights I made on the trip the standard deviation of the intercept from the GPS position was 1.5 NM which I was quite satisfied with.
Apparently Captain Lou was on an ASA committee that sets the course exams and I believe she was planning to use some of our 3-body fixes in them.
