    John,

For this LAN observation set the Sun will be within 0.1' of maximum altitude for two minutes of time before and after LAN (4 minutes of total hang time).

     Greg & Lars,

I, too did equal altitude and drew ( several ) graphs and came to a time of LAN about 1668z but then looked again at the raw data.  The time for the max Hs is over two minutes later at 1700:38.  Does the sun really hang that long at noon.

You both have much more time looking through the sextant than I do but it just does not seem it would hang that long.

    John H.
