For this LAN observation set the Sun will be within 0.1' of maximum altitude for two minutes of time before and after LAN (4 minutes of total hang time).

I, too did equal altitude and drew ( several ) graphs and came to a time of LAN about 1668z but then looked again at the raw data. The time for the max Hs is over two minutes later at 1700:38. Does the sun really hang that long at noon.
You both have much more time looking through the sextant than I do but it just does not seem it would hang that long.
