I am most interested in the personal details surrounding his discovery of the celestial LOP on December 17, 1837. What was the man like? What kind of captain was he? Did he work by lamplight? What instruments did he use? What was the cabin like that he worked in? What was the ship like? What cargoe was he carrying, and why? Where was he when he wrote up his book?
