Dear Ed,
I'm not just jealous. :)
These are just my comments as an engineer who thinks on how could I use such a watch.
First of all - no Sun declination scale - no go. Useless as an emergency tool. If you still have to refer to NA for declination - it IS a show-stopper (for me at least).
Second (pun intended), without the split-seconds capability - (I'm sure) it is very inconvenient to use or very error-prone if used in an emergency/distress situation.
And third - the Weems seconds-setting feature is also over-rated - the watch must be within 1 (one) minute of correctness, and it is not clear (to me!) how to tell if watch is 5 seconds late or 55 seconds fast? I dare to think it is also a useless feature in itself. No wonder nobody copied this feature.
:)
Said this - I'm printing the necessary scales for a Timex wrist-watch with a 60-clicks bezel and surprisingly accurate going (2.5~3 seconds a month fast).
Regards,
Tony
