Hello!
After some (lengthy) meditation at Ed's Lindbergh-Weems Second-Setting Watch drawing I came to some understanding for which I need confirmation.
- the positive values of EoT correspond to the counter-clockwise turn of the besel, the negative values - to the clockwise turn. For example, an October's maximum EoT == +16m brings the "4°" mark up against the "twelve o'clock" position;
- in both the Ed's and the original implementation the only movable part is besel - the outer scale with 0°-to-15° markings. This is done for simplicity only;
- ideally all the scales should turn correspondingly - according to their respective hands (a hours', a minutes' and a seconds') gears ratios: one full revolution of the central scale for each minute notch of the besel, the 0°-to-180° scale should move by ~0°15' for the full travel of the besel;
- the only scale that needs amendment is the 0°-to-180° one if I modify the face for my 24-hour watch. It should become 0°-to-360° with zero at "twelve o'clock".
Please comment.
Regards,
Tony
