That is a small world. I see from my civilian logbook that I flew G-BROR between 15th Jan 2006 and 1st March 2009 (about 84hrs). The first photograph is me looking steely eyed in the rear seat; my preferred position. I have only been able to find one photograph of me flying her, but it’s copyright protected, so you’ll have to manage with a link:
That’s me flying her into Waddington as a ground exhibit for the Airshow on 4th July 2008.
Concerning the Link A12 Sextant: The first photograph is my A12 box. The magnifying glass is not original. The large hole is the space for a spare bubble chamber, which I do not have. The white plastic median drums are for three-star fixing, one for each star. Inside the box you can see the two Bristol keys required. The tiny one is for the bubble chamber grub screw, and the larger one is for the index mirror grub screw.
The third photograph shows what you get in the appropriate Bristol Key Kit. It looks like I only found one original under the fittings in the box, and that’s the tiny one with the red tape on it.
Yes, I am local. I live in Waddington Village less than one mile from the airport. I’ve got my keys ready. Also, because I wasn’t sure what size needle I’d require, and because buying a strip of ten on eBay is no more expensive than buying one, I’ve got enough spare hypodermic needles to last well into the next century.
