I happened across this in the May 1948 issue of Popular Science. Love that is comes complete with: an instruction course on Celestial Navigation and a wood navigation scale and 18-inch navigation dividers "if you ask for them."
And wood dividers?
Oh, it is super-accurate -- "... to determine your position within a few feet on land; within a mile when on a ship at sea." (I'll bet Frank could get it down to an inch if he had one of these super-accurate beauties!) ;-)
