In the sense that it will not be amended anymore.
But I conclude from your explkanation that it will still be available
for READING through the web, correct?

This would be very useful too. Can it be made freely accessible
without a password and without pop up advertizing?

I mean the "disaster" for "the list", of course, not for the list
participants of for the humankind as a whole.
This archiv contains a lot of useful and interesting information,
collected by a group of people over the years.
I will regrett the loss very much. But if other participants do not care,
what can I do.

I think I received all of them. I just don't know what I can reply.
If I could take over the list, I would. But as I cannot, there is nothing
I can do.

It is not "as before". "Before", I could browse the list archive
for a message that I saw two weeks ago and even two years ago, and re-read
it. Or to refer
someone to it.

I do...
