    I agree thoroughly here.  I was suggesting that Google might want to 
    update their software to provide the features of the Nav-L archive 
    for all their lists, and that Frank might want to contact them to 
    suggest this.  This point is moot, however, if we can't migrate the 
    old archives to Google, and if they don't maintain the archive going 
    back to day one.  Some list archives migrate off of HTML severs, 
    which is very inconvenient.

    The other point is that I believe the existing Nav-L archive should 
    be a current member of the Google list so that it is kept up to 
    date.  Additionally, I believe the current archive of the Google list 
    should be added to the Nav-L archive; perhaps the dates could be 
    spoofed.

    Frank suggested he might be rolling his own archive.  This might not 
    be too good as who would maintain the codebase, and archive, were he 
    no longer here?  Or Frank may be looking into other archives.
