If this is a stupid question I apologize...
Are any of our past (recent recorded history) major catastrophic geological or moon events significant enough to alter our almanac data on a percentage accuracy basis? based on accumualted error?
Would they effect published long and short term almanacs differently?
Is there any effort made to adjust, or is it insignificant for foreseable future?
I speak of such catastrophic events such as:
Kobe earthquake. I recall hearing it changed the length of day, but I believe it is in microseconds.
Indian ocean earhtquake/tsunami, which I recall hearing wobbled mother earth on her axis a whisker...because of inertial changes
