Peter Monta published a nice Otis scale years ago at www.pmonta.com/sliderules ( copy attached). His scale leads easily to a Flat implementation. The Otis seems specifically designed for 4-digit multiplication / division according to this scale. I, however, have never used one to make a judgment at this time.
I plan to try out the Flat Otis in the near future. Until then I hope to get some comments from you about this idea. Presently I am still tinkering with R. Stuart's scales for an optimized Flat Bygrave - optimized for my personal use, that is.

remember we recently discussed multiplication of 4-digit numbers? The context was Doniol and speed. My favorite is still Vedic but another method occurred to me: The Flat Otis. These tables require interpolation. Mental interpolation shouldn't be a problem here. Listing every 10' saves lots of space.
