Hi Hanno,
I've been trying my original Otis King on a few LOPs and lunar clearance calcs recently and get surprisingly good results. (not quite as accurate as the Fuller, but good to 4 places. It is a delight to use.
At the moment, I have a one page natural sin table small enough to wrap round the Otis King in its box.(cosine numbers in red going the other way). Have to write down the sin/cos numbers etc, but surprisingly easy and fast.
the best solution would be if someone could generate a sin/red cos scale in leau of th log scale on the Otis King L. this should then work like my Fuller 2 and allow the Otis King to be used as a full trig slide rule for doing celnav.(using the cosine formulae, which I have found work fine on my fuller2.)
If anyone could generate a sin/cos scale exactly same dimensions as the current log scale, I will probably have a go at building the definitive celnav slide rule, the "Trig Otis King ". My available plastic tubes are slightly bigger than the orininal, so it will still be compact, but possibly even more accurate( with longer scales.) I would need PDFs which I can edit/re-size on my photoshop software (do not have postscript)
Any volunteers for the scale? I'll build the thing.
Francis
