Hanno, Brad and others re the Fuller build. No problems really! I'ved used the same easy, but laboroius (repeated trial and error to get perfect fit)successful technique many times. Have you seen my origincal build intructions? I attach again. All my rules made in the same way. Need precision plastic drainpipe tubes that fit closely with just enough room for felt clutches. No glue. Must use 2 sided scotch tape. Re-size scales in photoshop or similar for perfect size.Print on high quality photo paper after many trials on cheap paper.Cut perfectly (my only, "ex surgical" skill) using scapel against steel rule on wooden chopping board.Place double tape along tube where you want the edge joint. Attach edge joint for perfect fit after several attempts! Use felt strips stuck with double sided tape between tubes, trial and error. Keep everthing close and tight to avoid parallax between cursers/tube scales etc.The outer curser tube can be simple wrapped transparency film with appropriate sighting lines drawn in. Mine have been made a little more robust as sea going tools. All my rules work perfectly, including my latest prototype fuller 2.I added a Gary type brake to this one for fun.Works perfectly.(see previous postings with pictures of mini fuller 2) the mini Fuller 2 is no more difficult to build than the original Fuller ,just has one more scale. The photos show mini fuller 2 extended (much shorter when closed) against old original Fuller 2, bygrave replica and Otis King. These all work perfectly.
I'm hospital and out of action for a few days.Good luck and I hope to be in helpful action asap. But, I repeat, these are easy to make with virtually no skills.Just take a lot of work and trial and error.
Best wishes
Francis
