I'm actually looking for the original military spec document. The one the military would have issued for its use, maintenance and detailing its specification. It probably would have looked something like this:

I understand the watch would have been set against the master timepiece - the A-6. However the A-6 told both sidereal and solar time.

Did the A-7 tell sidereal time? Did it tell solar time? How was the second setting function used on the A-7, through the chronograph function? Why is the A-7 called a "Hack" watch? I'm afraid I know a lot about watches, but very little about Celestial Navigation.
