    The star Mintaka (or δ Orionis) [...] is less than a third of a degree from the celestial equator. That's unique. Its declination is around 0°17' S this year. -Frank Reed

    According to Stellarium, it's going to get even closer over the next few hundred years. It looks as though it should "bottom out" just below 0°07' S around the year 2550. I guess I will add this to Polaris as a "lucky" star for navigators born in this era. :) Thanks for the heads up!
