    Always happy to read your continued contributions/enthusiasm for, and
    novel approaches to traditional navigation. IMHO the 4 minute
    sextant-observable "hang" time and observation window is dependent on
    the observer's latitude and the sun's declination. I doubt I have the
    skill sets or patience to determine usable longitude above 60N mid June.
    Comedian Steven Wright joked he was in Alaska for the 4th of July and
    they had to shoot off the fireworks indoors.
    
    I am skeptical about Wright's claim that he wasted the summer trying to
    take close-up pictures of the horizon. If you have a waterproof camera,
    it's a no brainer ;-)
