Alan,
I do not think all our eggs are in one basket. The Russans have a system and so do the Western Europeans and I think that China has one also.
If some rouge nation or group sets off a atomic bomb we ALL have more problems than loss of satilite navigation. I flew for over 40 years and aircraft always have a backup to GPS. Radar vectoring, VOR, TACAN, looking out the window ---- Yes, we rely on GPS for a lot of things but is that the real important thing when someone sets off a nuke?
