There are still many aviation NDBs (NON DIRECTIONAL BEACONS) in use for instrument approaches which all transmit in the low frequency band and are used with ADFs in the planes.

On the topic of RDF, there are a few short range stations still listed
in the Canadian west coast light list, and at least one (Active Pass)
was running a few months ago when I last used it (In a classroom
teaching on the topic of electronic navigation systems).

I suspect they may be the loneliest,
 least listened to radio stations
in the world, and will be shut down when the tubes in the transmitters
fail.
