Having suffered through my share of Triposes at Cambridge (Like Caesar's Gaul, the Tripos is divided into three parts), this sent shudders down my spine.
I quite certainly would have been too frozen in fear upon reading the question to have ever thought of such a clever answer. Kelvin was clearly a sadist.
