George G. Bennett published a paper, "Longitude from Lunar Altitudes Simplified" J. Inst. Nav. Vol. 53, No. 2, Summer (2006) in which he describes what is sometimes called the Bennett method, but in fact he starts with a description of Chichester's method, "Longitude Without Time" J. Inst. Nav. Vol. 19, pp 106-107 (1966) and moves it on a bit.
Bennett's paper is behind a Wiley paywall, but if you do not have scruples about such things then Sci-Hub will winkle it out. Chichester's paper would appear to have been re-worked into an article for the 'Forum', whatever that was, and is now published online in that form by Cambridge University Press.
