Just got the new issue of "Navigation: Journal of the Institute
of Navigation" Vol. 44, No.1

The first two articles are:

"The Lunar Distance Method in the Nineteenth Century:
 A Simulation of Joshua Slocum's Observation on June 16, 1896"

 by Siebern Y. Van der Werf  ( about 13 pages )

 and

"The Direct Fix of Latitude and Longitude From Two Observed
 Altitudes" by Stanley W. Gery ( about 9 pages )

 Method has been programmed into an HP 15C and Radio Shack
 EC-4026. Article include code for the EC-4026.

I have scanned them and they look real good. I haven't read them
in depth or tried the methods out yet.
