    Alex,

I think Joel intended no insult here. He is merely trying to
establish/maintain his presence in the market, which is a different
motivation than that of most of the posters on this list, and leads to
    different behavior.

I would just as soon not reveal how much I paid for an inverting scope.
BTW, I believe it is 6x not 7x, according to one manual I downloaded.
I've not tried to measure its magnification yet, and don't know how,
offhand. I am very pleased with it, but I wish that a clear sky would
coincide with an interval when I have the time and inclination to use
    it!

Joel has a good point that the box has the letters, "SNO-T," on it. It
is natural to then advertise it as a "SNO-T," so that the buyer is not
confused when he receives a "SNO-T" but had ordered a "SNO-T." That
leads to suspicion on the buyer's part regardless of whether this is
explained before the sale or after the sale or shipment.

In microscopes, various measuring devices are inscribed on glass disks
which are inserted in the eyepiece at a focal plane. I don't know
whether the eyepiece of telescopes would differ, but have assumed they
    would not.

    Fred
