Frank, > Sun-star lunars are worse for the > bright stars (e.g. Regulus) by a factor of two > and for the fainter stars > (e.g. alpha Arietis) by a factor of three. Do you agree with my recently posted explanation of this? (That this happens because of lower resulution of the eye in darkness). Or you have some other explanation? How about star index check? Many writers say that it is as precise (some say more precise) as the Sun checks. This contradicts to my experience.
