    Dear Paul and Roger,

In reference to your reply Paul, may I mention this NASA Polynomial Expressions paper derived from Fred Espenak's and Jean Meeus' published works.

For 1855.0 it yields +7.3 s and for 1856.0 it yields +7.2 s which are closer from the 2020 AAL values quoted by Roger here .

These series look like being probably the best long-time span references of anything published until now on this subject. Given the huge amount of historical research undertaken to establish such series from various cultures (Chinese, Babylonian, Central America, Persia) I have now come to the personal conclusion that  probably no definite improvements could be added onto them from now on, especially for times prior to the XVI th Century AD.

As an example, these series look quite reliable to independently check a number of Lunar events and accurately time-clock them to an accuracy much better than half a day - mainly : First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter, as well as New Moon - related in these pages describing events having occurred over 2.000 years ago.

For your M. Roger W. Sinnot, would you be so kind as to privately contact me on my e-mail here-under.

Best Regards to both of you,

      Antoine M. Couëtte - antoine.m.couette[at]club-internet.fr
