Hi Jacques,
I look for an article of Sadler "Lunar distance and nautical almanach" of 1976.
I am very interested by the "walking" of Maskelyne between the publication of "british Mariner's Guide" (1763) and the publication of Nautical Almanach of 1767, and the influence of the Abbé de Lacaille.
The Sadler article seems to be behind a paywall, but Gallica has an article by Guyou in the 1902 Revue Maritime which has some of this history. I don't know how to send the direct link from Gallica's web page, but this link will get close. You want page 953.
It sounds like, though, you're more interested in the technical progression of Maskelyne's ephemerides between 1763 and 1767 and whether la Caille had an impact in that time period (in addition to la Caille's original suggestion of the technique a decade earlier). I don't know where this might be detailed.
