I usually get within 0.2 to 0.3 minutes of the right distance for a
standard set of four or five distances. I don't have actual statistics but my
sense is that two-thirds or so fall within those limits.
I've tried lunars with about a dozen different (metal) sextants and in my
experience the most important factor is a decent 7x telescope. Also, a careful
estimate of IC is critical.
