    Frank- Thanks.  This is historically and geometrically fascinating.  Are there modern and accessible lunar tables on the web?  I know that I can make such an ephemeris from my Starry Night program and Excel, as I did for Jupiter-Venus separation.  

    and another question-  when measuring angular distance from star to  Moon, we should take into account the changing angular size of the Moon, to determine the center, right?  

    Certainly hope my travels will soon take me East.  Love to attend any of your courses.
